The "tribal" process to #SaifAlIslam Gaddafi

In early January the ICC, Icc, with the usual leniency towards Libya, limited itself to a bland explanation request link recurring entries about an imminent process (bootthat Libya is not officially authorized to do, least of all without  aid of the Court of Auditors) to SAIF QADDAFI (for over a year in “private” detention at Zentan tribes links to articles) and former head of intelligence ABDULLHAH the SENUSSI (link extradited from Mauritania through a “sale” valued at $ 200 million, link ).

On 15 January in the short span of 17 hours of Libya authorities have given for sure and then belied the start of the process.

The Libyan media is not the best, you know, but this time may have been a misunderstanding because, it turns out now, the son of Gaddafi, there are two pending trials.

On 17th January in a Youtube video showing Saif in a courtroom, the influential BBC, on 18th, deals with the issue in the most superficial manner, assuming that it is the long-awaited trial, weakly challenged by the International Criminal Court.

Avvocato ed ex ministro della Giustizia nel suo Paese, 51 anni, Bensouda succede all’argentino Louis Moreno Ocampo, di cui è stata il numero 2 dal 2004. Wanted: another kind of ICC

But from the operations of the ICC so far, it is clear that the world will not be able to bring to earthly justice powerful individuals in Europe and America who truly deserve to be candidates for prosecution at The Hague. For if we were living in a world where we are all equal before the law and we all have equal passion for fairness, justice and equity, there is no earthly reason why Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy and other leaders and individuals in the big and powerful nations would not have been at The Hague by now to answer for the terrible crimes they only recently committed against the people of Libya.
